Interview S.G. Zertuche

How long have you been publishing?

3 years

Why do you like writing about Organized Crime?

I enjoy the mystery of the way the stories progress. Also the ties and loyalty among the main character and their protectors.

Of the books you've published, who is your favorite character?

Thad- he is a supporting character in Ambivalent but I fell in love with him somewhere along the way.

If you could write any genre, what would it be?

Mystery thriller intertwined with romance is my favorite. But I also have plans to write a sci-fi romance.

Since we are talking about the Mafia, what would you have written on your tombstone?

She was a sunny piece of the hurricane.

If you had a million dollars to spend, what would you do with it?

Buy a ranch with lots of land for plenty of animals. I would turn it into a rescue site

What is your favorite book of all time?

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier.

If you had to choose to be a fruit, what fruit would you be?

A plum.

Have you killed off characters? If so, which one was the hardest to say goodbye to? Which one was the easiest?

Yes. For some odd reason, I enjoy this part. The villain is always easiest to kill off while the family members are the hardest.

What is the weirdest thing you've ever googled?

How to poison a person so they appear dead without killing them.

Five Wrong Moves

I didn't ask for this life. It was handed to me. Like a gift, wrapped up with a blood red satin bow, it tempted me to pull the ribbon and peer inside the box.

The gift came with a price—an expensive one. And once the lid was off, my life began to change. I made promises. Decisions. Moves in the direction I thought I needed to go in order to fulfill my word.

Then she appeared, submerged in her own little world. Then, I made a new promise. I would keep her safe,  except who was I to promise safety when I was the one destroying her world?

Keep Up With Stefanie

S.G. Zertuche, aka Chicky Poo Books, resides in Texas where she spends a large majority of her time sucking down espresso while putting out “fires” at her day job. On her off time, she can be found having impromptu dance parties with Charlie “Batman” and Fitzpatrick “Solo” (her guinea pigs), Lulu Belle (her Shih Tzu puppy) and Nieman (her finch) while writing mystery romance in her head.
